Legacy Rules

Hello all, thanks for showing interest in my legacy! This is the first one I’ve ever done. Since I’m more familiar with just writing stories, I’m going to try and make a story to go with this legacy so it isn’t so cut and dry and straight to the point. I hope you all enjoy!

To better convince you to read this story, please take a look at the Reviews section! ;D

To begin your read, or to navigate through the Generations and their Chapters, see menu above.

I always reply to my commenters. I don’t like not replying to people because I’m writing this story for myself, as well as for the entertainment of others, so if I don’t talk back, it just makes me think that these readers are talking to themselves, and that’s no fun. Every comment I get is loved and appreciated. <3

These 3 rules are optional but I have selected them all and am going to try my best to follow them.

Family Trait Rule – When creating your founder in CAS, choose one of the founder’s 5 traits to become the ‘family trait’ for your legacy family. There after, every sim born to the legacy family must possess this trait by the time they reach young adulthood. If they do not inherit it at birth, you must choose that trait the moment you are given the option to. The remaining traits still must be rolled for.

Matriarchy/Patriarchy Rule– Whatever gender your founder was, this must be the gender of every heir. Meaning if you started with a female founder, only female children may become the heir to bring in the next generation. Children of the other gender are still counted as part of the family bloodline and may still earn the family points, they simply may not bring in the next generation. A male dominant family is called a Patriarchy, a female dominant family is a Matriarchy.

Story Teller Rule – A popular practice is to write a story for your Legacy family and upload it in chapters. If you feel the creative energy, why not try uploading your own story? There is no in-game bonus for doing this, but the addition to the community is always welcome!

  • Patriarchy (I want to try and keep the “Dubois” name throughout all generations; if the Dubois heir does not marry but has children, the children’s last names are Dubois by default)

Rules I Chose to Follow (or not follow)

Most rules have been altered solely for story purposes:

  • I am not starting from complete scratch.
(my founder has money, even though it may not be a lot, and he does already have a home that he lives in.)
  • Lives may be extended rather than set to normal due to story purposes.
  • I will not use Ambrosia.
  • I will not consume Life Fruit.
  • Sims will still be aged up only by means of the birthday cake or the day of their birthday when it naturally happens on its own.
(though again, their lives have been extended for story purposes..)
  • I will most likely make my own Sims to introduce to the Founder and Heirs, but people around the town that are preexisting Sims can also become candidates.
(though only if I give them a makeover XD i’ll only change their skin tone if I feel like it, as well as contacts and hairstyle.)
  • I WILL NOT change what the child of the founder/heir looks like when they are born and as they age; the extent of how I might edit them are different hairstyles and I use CC for different eye contacts, but I will not change their hair or eye color that they are born with, nor will I change facial features.
  • I’m not going to go by a point system.
  • All traits except for one (insane for males) will always be chosen at random upon each new birth of a child from the legacy family.
  • I am trying to fulfill my Sims wishes as their days go on, too, but I’m still doing mostly as I please when, again, it comes to story purposes.
(the Sims themselves often give me ideas to work off of when wishes pop up, so they still help with the story, too XD )
  • I don’t do anything with alien babies. Uh-uh. Nope.

This Legacy Story is intended for mature readers and it DOES contain things unsuitable for readers under the age of 18, like sexual encounters, violence and murder, as well as sensitive, triggering subjects.

Reader discretion is strongly advised.

  5. I’m actually really confused by this comment. You know that this is a Sim story and “Dubois” is just the last name that I randomly chose for them, right..? I’m not acquiring information from anywhere. :)
